Offer tax and invoice behavior depends on the workspace's checkout policy. Enabling Stripe Tax is not a universal prerequisite for a manually configured tax rate.
Review the workspace policy
For the supported GDPR-mode flow, Payments → Settings → Checkout and invoices contains the separate opt-in Use offer-level tax and Stripe invoices. It is off by default and applies to new checkouts. GDPR mode alone does not enable it. Existing payments, issued vouchers and payment schedules keep their stored rules.
Set inherited tax or an offer exception
Workspace prices can include tax or add it at checkout. Supported saved offer editors have a Tax control beside pricing, showing the inherited rate, price basis and invoice choice. Save a new offer before adding an exception. Review existing exceptions in Payments settings rather than configuring every child record separately.
The policy supports manual rates, a zero rate, an explicit exemption note or no tax collection. Manual rates do not require automatic Stripe Tax. Automatic calculation, when selected and supported, has its own connected-account setup requirements. Confirm your own classification and registrations with a qualified adviser; a language or VAT-ID entry does not establish an exemption.
Keep tax and invoice choices distinct
Connected Stripe invoices are the canonical documents for the opted-in paths. The connected account supplies the seller's identity, registrations, numbering and PDF branding. Recurring payments and installments require Stripe invoices; one-time purchases have the supported invoice choices. Provider fees can apply.
If this control is not available in your account, ask support to review its policy and availability. Do not change an older payment to imitate a newly configured checkout.
Workspace modes: the full workspace uses Create, Sell and Manage. Simple Mode uses a shorter menu, with Settings opening the management hub. Search can open tools permitted for your account; if a structured builder is not in the shorter menu, use Advanced Mode.
If the steps do not match what you see, contact support@coachful.co with the workspace URL, the action you tried and a screenshot without passwords or codes. Do not post client information in a public channel.
