Coaching Package Examples and Templates: 10 Clear Designs

Coaching package examples and templates help you turn a service into a clear purchase: its purpose, session allowance, included support, complete price and ending arrangements. A package can be useful when a client wants that defined scope. An individual session or a different service can also be appropriate.

The ten examples below show distinct coaching formats with practical delivery details. All USD prices are fictional planning figures, not surveyed market rates or recommendations. Actual offers need the relevant tax and mandatory-charge treatment, professional scope and locally reviewed terms.

Coachful is our #1 recommendation for turning a defined package into an organized Offer with supported sessions, resources and payment options. Our recommendation concerns that workflow; the practitioner still needs to choose suitable work, make accurate promises and honor the client’s agreement.

Ten package designs at a glance

Choose the service first. These are examples to compare and adapt, not ten levels every coach should sell. A longer term, higher fee or greater contact allowance does not by itself establish better outcomes.

1. The ninety-day sprint

This format can serve a bounded decision, transition or practice the client wants to explore over several reviews. State what the client can use the work for without promising a complete transformation in ninety days.

  • One 75-minute opening to agree the purpose, relevant context and review arrangements.
  • Six 45-minute follow-ups on listed dates within the service period. Explain their actual spacing rather than assuming every calendar quarter produces the same pattern.
  • A bounded question service with a stated audience, response schedule and request scope.
  • Chosen worksheets, actions or optional habit records that support the client’s purpose.

The seven appointments total 75+6×45=345 minutes, or 5 hours 45 minutes. Preparation and between-session work are additional delivery effort.

The fictional price is USD 2,400 paid once or three installments of USD 850, totaling USD 2,550. Show both totals and the dates before purchase. Decide how scheduling difficulty, an agreed pause or early completion will be handled under the actual terms.

2. The six-month development package

A longer service can allow time to apply and review learning. Choose it because the client’s purpose and support needs justify the period, not because serious people must commit for six months.

  • Two 60-minute opening conversations to clarify purpose and relevant conditions.
  • Twelve 50-minute regular sessions on agreed dates.
  • One additional 60-minute midpoint review, with the allowance clearly separate from the twelve regular sessions.
  • The specified resources and a clear agreement about preparation and any between-session support.

This version contains fifteen live appointments and thirteen contact hours: 2 hours+10 hours+1 hour. A version with a different allowance needs a correspondingly different description. Work through actual dates before promising a fortnightly rhythm.

USD 4,800 once and six payments of USD 875 are different totals; the latter is USD 5,250. Explain a finite payment plan, the service term, access and ending arrangements together. The amount received upfront still funds work to be delivered.

3. The strategy intensive

An intensive can create protected time for a well-defined question or deliverable. It may involve coaching, facilitation or consulting; explain which role is offered and who owns decisions and implementation.

  • Relevant preparation questions, with a reasonable agreed submission window and an accessible alternative.
  • One four-hour appointment including planned breaks, with the working agenda agreed beforehand.
  • A defined roadmap or decision record, with responsibility for drafting and reviewing it clear.
  • Two 30-minute follow-up conversations during the stated 30-day period.
  • Any message service explicitly limited by purpose and response arrangements.

For this version, the fictional price is USD 3,200. Two separate 2.5-hour appointments would create five hours of appointment time before follow-up; that is a different allowance and should be quoted accordingly.

Avoid assuming a longer appointment fits everyone or compresses months of change into a day. Discuss preparation, breaks and the option of shorter work. Booking deposits, refunds and changes need fair actual terms rather than an automatic nonrefundable label.

4. The monthly ongoing retainer

A retainer can support a useful recurring review or reserve defined capacity. Explain what the monthly fee buys and how renewal, changes and ending work. It need not be restricted to graduates of a larger package.

  • Two 45-minute scheduled calls per active billing month.
  • A specifically bounded written or voice-question service, with review days, timezone, closures and exclusions.
  • An additional 60-minute review each completed quarter, with timing and treatment on ending clarified.
  • A short client-facing record of agreed priorities rather than an unspecified performance score.

The fictional monthly price is USD 900. In a completed three-month quarter, scheduled calls and the additional review use 6×45+60=330 minutes, or 5 hours 30 minutes, before messaging, preparation and administration.

Two calls per month and a call every two weeks produce different calendar patterns. State the actual allowance. Also explain unused sessions, coach absence, suitable pauses and resource access rather than assuming rollover or forfeiture is universal.

5. The career decision and preparation package

A career service can support comparing roles, preparing applications, rehearsing conversations or discussing negotiation questions. Hiring and promotion remain other people’s decisions, and compensation, employment or tax questions can need specialist advice.

  • Eight 50-minute calls during an agreed sixteen-week service period.
  • A defined resume or professional-profile review, including length, number of drafts and feedback scope.
  • Preparation for selected interviews or another relevant conversation.
  • A final decision or learning review rather than a guaranteed job, title or pay increase.

Eight calls provide 400 minutes, or 6 hours 40 minutes. Document review takes additional practitioner time and may be a separately identified advisory service.

The illustrative price is USD 3,200 once or four payments of USD 875, totaling USD 3,500. Explain any salary information or employer documents you request, and let the client choose suitable relevant details. Do not assume a possible salary gain will automatically repay the purchase.

6. The twelve-week health-related habits package

A general health-and-wellness coaching service can help a client plan and review their chosen behavior within the practitioner’s actual scope. Qualified treatment or nutrition/exercise advice belongs with the appropriately authorized role.

  • A proportionate written preparation record, focused on the purpose and information actually needed.
  • Twelve weekly 30-minute coaching calls, totaling six contact hours.
  • Optional habits or action records using the days and frequency relevant to the client’s plan.
  • Appropriate general resources and review of practical support, rather than prescribed recipes, diets or symptom-treatment plans by default.

The fictional price is USD 1,950 once or three USD 700 payments, totaling USD 2,100. Define any between-session review separately; a daily check mark does not imply daily human monitoring.

The NBHWC scope provides a professional example of standalone coach limits around diagnosis, medical interpretation, supplements, meal plans and treatment. Additional active qualifications have their own disclosed scope. Choose cadence and tracking for usefulness and burden, not a universal claim that weekly calls outperform fortnightly work.

7. The executive development engagement

Employer-funded coaching needs a clear client purpose, sponsor role and reporting arrangement. A higher organizational budget does not authorize unrestricted disclosure or make every assessment necessary.

  • Eighteen 60-minute private sessions across nine months, on explicit dates.
  • Two 60-minute alignment meetings with the agreed parties and information boundaries.
  • If appropriate, six authorized 30-minute stakeholder conversations and one 60-minute feedback debrief.
  • Three specifically scoped sponsor updates, with fields and audiences agreed beforehand.
  • Any additional board-preparation, facilitation or advisory work separately described and costed.

Those listed conversations total 24 contact hours: 18 private+2 alignment+3 stakeholder+1 debrief. Preparation, synthesis, reporting and coordination are additional. A formal licensed 360 instrument is a different inclusion from a qualitative interview process and needs its actual owner requirements.

The fictional fee is USD 18,000, payable in two USD 9,000 installments on agreed dates. No global survey is used to claim this is a typical executive fee. Decide payment timing with the actual buyer and appropriate contract review.

8. The private-plus-group package

A hybrid can combine individually chosen work with common learning. Explain the group purpose, participation options, confidentiality limits and how private content remains separate.

  • Four 45-minute private calls per participant, totaling three hours.
  • Sixteen 75-minute group calls on listed dates across the sixteen-week program, totaling twenty shared delivery hours.
  • The stated resources and moderated discussion access.
  • Optional peer connections with an agreed purpose, audience and way to change or stop the arrangement.

At eight participants, private calls require 8×3=24 coach hours. Add twenty group delivery hours for 44 contact hours before preparation, feedback, messages and administration. Sharing delivery does not remove the private allowance from capacity planning.

The fictional purchase is USD 3,800 once or four USD 1,050 payments, totaling USD 4,200. Specify resource and recording access; do not assume every personal group conversation should be recorded or retained indefinitely.

9. The focused four-session kickstart

A smaller service can support a limited question or let a client experience a suitable working arrangement. It is a real service, not necessarily a funnel into a larger purchase.

  • One 60-minute opening to agree the purpose and relevant context.
  • Three 45-minute follow-ups over the agreed four-to-six-week period.
  • Proportionate chosen preparation and a clear review of what was learned.
  • A practical ending with no obligation to buy another package.

The allowance totals 195 minutes, or 3 hours 15 minutes. The illustrative price is USD 900.

If you offer credit toward another service, state the amount, qualifying purchase, timing, delivered-work treatment and applicable rights before the decision. Do not imply that a credit is an automatic cash refund or that all completed work can always be transferred at full value.

10. The annual advisory partnership

An annual service can provide a defined period of support for a continuing purpose. Explain whether the work is coaching, consulting or another advisory role, and distinguish it from board membership, legal counsel or emergency coverage.

  • Twenty-four 60-minute appointments, described as two per month rather than automatically fortnightly.
  • Two three-hour planning appointments on agreed annual dates.
  • A bounded request service with practical response and closure arrangements.
  • An annual review record with appropriate audiences and a fresh continuation decision.

Scheduled appointment time is 24+6=30 hours before other work or reserved availability. The fictional annual fee is USD 24,000 once or twelve USD 2,000 installments, the same total. There is no requirement to invent an upfront discount.

This example is a finite twelve-month commitment. A renewing monthly service would need a different description. Explain changes, early ending, payments and access under the actual agreement. An annual label does not eliminate churn, guarantee a result or create on-call capacity.

Compare payment totals without misleading percentages

ExampleOnceInstallmentsDifference
90-day sprint2,4003×850=2,550150 more; 6.25% of the once price.
Six-month development4,8006×875=5,250450 more; 9.375% of the once price.
Career package3,2004×875=3,500300 more; 9.375% of the once price.
Health-related package1,9503×700=2,100150 more; about 7.7% of the once price.
Hybrid3,8004×1,050=4,200400 more; about 10.5% of the once price.

All amounts are fictional USD examples. A premium relative to the once price differs from a saving relative to the installment total. Show the actual totals, dates and required charges. Choose and review payment terms suitable for the actual transaction rather than treating a percentage as a universal coaching rule.

Cost the whole service before choosing a price

Use the ninety-day example for an original planning calculation. Contact time is 5.75 hours. Add 1.75 hours of preparation and follow-up, 1.5 hours of included message review and 1 hour of administration. Total planned delivery is ten hours.

At an internal allocation of USD 150 per service-work hour, time is USD 1,500. Add USD 100 in other allocated costs for a USD 1,600 model. A USD 2,400 price leaves USD 800 after those allocations. Check which overhead, leave, supervision, provider costs and tax treatment are already included before interpreting the remainder as profit.

Four unplanned support hours increase the allocation to 14×150+100=USD 2,200, leaving USD 200. That sensitivity can help define a bounded service or future scope revision. It does not establish the price clients will accept.

The package-pricing strategy guide develops cost, value, capacity and demand. The hourly-versus-package comparison helps assess the underlying purchase fairly.

A complete buyer-choice conversation

Client: I want help comparing two career paths. Do I need the six-month package?

Coach: Let us examine the question and the kind of support you want before choosing a term. What would make the next few conversations useful?

Client: I need a way to compare requirements and prepare an information interview. I may decide after that.

Coach: The smaller defined service may fit if its scope is enough. The longer package adds more review opportunities but does not guarantee a better decision.

Client: I would like to read the smaller service’s total price and ending terms.

Coach: I will provide those details, including what is included and what would need another service.

The useful output is a scope the person can assess. A longer commitment should follow a real need rather than a presumption that larger purchases demonstrate seriousness.

Worked package: a smaller purchase carried through to its ending

Make the smaller-service choice concrete with fictional coach Corin and client Nadia. Nadia wants to compare two career directions, not purchase a promised job. She has an existing client account, and their information agreement limits the coaching worksheet and recap to the two of them. No employer sponsor or private third-party records are involved.

Corin spends thirty minutes adapting the four-session Offer and an original comparison worksheet. A leftover benefit line says “unlimited support.” Nadia notices it while reviewing the proposal. During a fifteen-minute buyer-review block she reads the details and asks whether that means daily advice. Corin uses a fifteen-minute block to read the question, correct the draft and send the complete clarification before Nadia decides:

This proposed package includes one sixty-minute opening and three forty-five-minute follow-ups, on 17 May, 31 May, 14 June and 28 June 2027. The total is USD 900, paid once, with no additional mandatory charge in this fictional example and no automatic renewal. It includes our comparison worksheet and one coaching question of up to 200 words during the service, answered within two working days. It does not include daily advice or unlimited messaging. The earlier benefit line was wrong. Please assess this corrected scope before buying.

The stated working days are Monday through Friday, with a reply by 17:00 Europe/London on the second working day after receipt; the example calendar has no closure affecting that reply. An administrative access or booking query does not consume the one coaching question. The service ends on 28 June at 17:00. Terms for scheduling changes, cancellation, unused work and resource access are available before purchase, rather than supplied only when a problem occurs.

Nadia’s fifteen-minute buyer block includes reading the correction, choosing the smaller scope, completing the agreed document and purchasing. Corin spends twenty minutes arranging and checking that agreement, payment record and session plan. The authoritative record confirms the USD 900 purchase; a page view is not treated as payment. On 17 May, before the opening session, Corin uses ten minutes to grant the selected private worksheet and check the correct client route. Nadia opens it as part of her first preparation block. A standalone resource link is used here, without assuming automatic session-preparation placement.

Show what the four appointments actually do

Both attend the sixty-minute opening and all three forty-five-minute follow-ups. Each begins at 14:00 on its listed date. The following original record distinguishes work completed in the coaching sessions from a future career outcome:

Actual appointmentWork completed togetherBoundary retained
17 May, sixty minutesNadia chooses three comparison criteria: day-to-day tasks, support available and room to learn. They record what her two public role descriptions actually say.A job title is not treated as proof of the work or support.
31 May, forty-five minutesShe separates stated requirements from her assumptions. One role names supervision; the other gives no usable detail about it.Missing information stays unknown instead of receiving a favorable invented rating.
14 June, forty-five minutesShe rehearses two information-interview questions about an ordinary workweek and how feedback is provided. Corin asks which answers might change her view. The rehearsal is not an interview already arranged or an employer’s answer.
28 June, forty-five minutesShe reviews the remaining uncertainty and chooses to seek an information conversation independently. She has not selected a career route, secured an interview or obtained a new job.

Nadia spends eight minutes preparing for each appointment, including opening the granted worksheet and updating her own limited comparison notes. Corin uses ten minutes per appointment to read the relevant preparation and organize an appropriate note. These are actual durations within the fiction, not completion-time promises for other clients.

Nadia uses the included coaching question on Monday 7 June at 11:00, spending seven minutes composing and sending: “I keep reading the unknown supervision arrangements as a positive sign. What could I ask to check that assumption without pretending I know how the employer works?” Corin’s fifteen-minute handling block includes reading, drafting and sending this response on Wednesday 9 June at 16:00:

Keep the unknown visible. You could ask what feedback a new colleague receives during an ordinary month, who provides it and what happens when they need help. A concrete example may be more useful than a general assurance that the culture is supportive. What answer would make this direction more or less workable for you? We can examine your question in our next session; we do not yet have the employer’s answer.

The response arrives one hour before the agreed deadline. Nadia reads it on 10 June, taking three minutes; she does not send an acknowledgment or another question. Her later rehearsal in the 14 June session uses the distinction, without claiming that the employer was contacted.

Close the service without turning uncertainty into a new sale

At 15:00 on 28 June, after the final appointment, Corin spends five minutes preparing and sending the ending summary: all four appointments and the one included question are complete, while the career decision remains open. At 15:15 Nadia uses three minutes to read it and three minutes to send feedback: “The comparison is more useful now, and I still need outside information. I do not want another package or more reminders. Please close this one.”

At 15:30 Corin uses ten minutes to read that feedback, record completion and the communication choice, and send the final closure: “This four-session service is complete. No continuation or new charge is arranged, and I will not send further reminders for it. The worksheet remains available under our agreed access terms. Your next information conversation is your own choice, not an unfinished coaching appointment.” Nadia reads that closure at 16:00, taking two minutes. Completion does not require a final career choice or permission for a renewal pitch.

Corin’s recorded work is 30 + 15 + 20 + 10 + 195 + 40 + 15 + 15 = 340 minutes against a 360-minute allocation. Nadia’s buyer handling, live sessions, four preparations, coaching-question send, answer reading and ending handling take 15 + 195 + 32 + 7 + 3 + 8 = 260 minutes against 270. Together that is 600 of 630 allocated person-minutes, leaving thirty. The closing eight client minutes include reading the summary, composing and sending feedback, and reading the final closure.

The four live appointments alone total 195 minutes for each person. The account covers this purchase and coaching workflow, including the pre-sale correction and final receiving work. Earlier account setup and any later independent career research are excluded. The USD 900 is collected revenue, not profit calculated from these minutes. This case is separate from the ninety-day cost model above; a smaller service can be fully delivered while the client sensibly leaves a larger decision open.

A reusable package-design brief

FieldWhat to specify
Purpose and fitThe actual request and professional role.
Allowance and calendarEvery live appointment, length, date pattern and review.
Other deliveryPreparation, resources, messages, feedback and reserved availability.
Workload and priceWhole-service effort, costs, demand and complete payment totals.
Information and accessRecord audiences, resources, recordings and access term.
Change and endingBooking, pauses, unused work, financial settlement and relevant rights.
ReviewClient usefulness, actual workload and the next service decision.

Test the brief with ordinary scenarios: a client finishes early, the coach is unavailable, a payment fails or someone requests substantial extra feedback. The schedule should make the next step understandable without inventing a new term after the event.

Configure the actual purchase in Coachful

A template may prefill a first available session type. Check the saved selection and quantity against the exact package, as well as any resource inclusion. Use the Offer’s content and pricing settings for the service actually being sold. Configure included sessions, resources, Programs and relevant support access. Additional benefit text describes the purchase; it does not itself grant the named allowance.

Native tiers can contain two to six distinct plans when meaningful choices belong together. Review saved prices, currencies and full installment totals. Existing buyers retain the plan, price and access purchased when future tiers are edited; an existing-client change needs its appropriate agreed process.

Use the actual agreement, purchase and enrollment route. A Program entitlement, a pending invitation and confirmed enrollment are distinct. When ending work, handle appointments, credits, billing and access deliberately. Explore Coachful’s features for offers, agreements and organized service delivery.

Professional context: the ICF Code of Ethics on agreements and accurate representations, and the NBHWC scope on health-coaching role limits. For business context, the CMA price summary explains total prices in its UK consumer setting, while the SBA break-even guide emphasizes identifying costs and treating estimates as estimates. Our allocations are original scenarios, not a complete break-even model. All ten packages, prices, conversations and calculations are original illustrations, not fee benchmarks, legal templates or validated treatment programs.

Frequently asked questions

How many sessions should a package include?

Choose a useful allowance for the actual purpose, client and service. State opening and review calls explicitly. No one minimum or maximum establishes meaningful change.

Should every package offer installments?

Choose suitable transparent terms and show the complete total. A payment plan can help some buyers, but its effect on demand and administration is not guaranteed.

How does a package differ from a retainer?

A package usually defines a finite service. A retainer reserves the recurring service or capacity in its actual agreement. Billing labels alone do not decide scope or ending rights.

What prevents indefinite postponement?

Agree a realistic service period, booking opportunities, pause process and fair treatment of changes or unused work. A fixed expiry alone does not settle a delivery shortfall.

Should prices be public?

Provide useful material price information and comply with applicable requirements. A bespoke quote still needs clear scope and complete commitment before purchase.

What should happen between calls?

Only the support actually included and useful to the client. Define its purpose, request limits, response schedule and audience, and count the work required to provide it.

A strong package makes the work and commitment visible. Adapt one of the ten formats to a real need, cost its complete delivery and give the client a clear basis for choosing it or another suitable option.
