What a coaching contract should cover

Scope: what the client gets, how many sessions, over what period, and what is not included. Fees: amount, schedule, what happens on a failed payment. Cancellations and rescheduling: the window and the consequence. Confidentiality and its limits. A clear statement that coaching is not therapy or medical advice. Termination by either side. Signatures and dates.

Keep it in plain English. A contract nobody reads is not doing its job.

Getting it signed without friction

Do I need a contract for coaching clients?

Yes, for every paying client. It sets scope, fees, cancellations and confidentiality before they matter. A one-page agreement signed electronically is enough for most 1:1 and group coaching.

What should a coaching agreement include?

Scope and deliverables, fees and payment schedule, cancellation and rescheduling policy, confidentiality and its limits, a not-therapy disclaimer, termination terms, and signatures. Add a results disclaimer and an intellectual property clause if you deliver content.

Is a generated coaching contract legally binding?

A signed agreement with clear terms and consideration is generally enforceable, but laws vary by country and state. Treat the generated draft as a starting point and have a lawyer review it if your practice is regulated or your prices are high.
