Trainerize Pricing in 2026: Plans, Fees and What Coaches Pay

Trainerize pricing in October 2026 starts with a free Basic plan for 1 client, then Grow at $10 a month for 2 clients, Pro from $25 a month for 5 clients, and Studio Plus from $275 a month for 500 or more clients. Paying yearly takes about 10% off, which is why the plan cards show $9, $23 and $248 a month. The plan price is rarely the whole bill: below Studio Plus, in-app payments, scheduling, video calls and advanced nutrition are each a separate monthly add-on, and a branded app costs a one-time setup fee.
This guide lists every plan and add-on as listed on the Trainerize pricing page in October 2026, works out what a coach with 5, 15 and 30 clients actually pays, flags the places where the pricing page contradicts itself, and compares the total with five alternatives. We make Coachful, one of those alternatives, so we say plainly where Trainerize is the better pick and where it is not.

What are Trainerize's plans and prices in 2026?
Trainerize sells four plan families, priced by how many clients you coach: Basic (free, 1 client), Grow (2 clients), Pro (tiers from 5 to 200 clients) and Studio Plus (500 clients and up). Every paid plan has a monthly price and a lower annual price, with the annual figure about 10% less.
| Plan | Monthly billing | Annual billing (per month) | Client limit | Headline features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $0 | $0 | 1 client | Mobile app, workouts, basic messaging, habit and lifestyle coaching |
| Grow | $10 | $9 | 2 clients | AI Workout Builder, custom programs, meal and macro tracking, Trainerize.me profile, app and wearable integrations |
| Pro 5 | $25 | $23 | 5 clients | Custom exercise videos, welcome emails, consultation forms, advanced messaging, challenges |
| Pro 15 | $50 (September 2026 listing) | Not printed | 15 clients | Same as Pro 5 |
| Pro 30 | $79 (September 2026 listing) | Not printed | 30 clients | Same as Pro 5 |
| Pro 50 | $135 (September 2026 listing) | Not printed | 50 clients | Same as Pro 5 |
| Pro 75, 100, 200 | Not printed | Not printed | 75, 100 or 200 clients | Same as Pro 5 |
| Studio Plus | From $275 | From $248 | 500, 1,000 or 1,000+ clients; "5+ locations"; contact sales | Group video calls, recipes and meals, referral links, prospect booking, onboarding, API, all add-ons and a studio-level branded app |
Two things about this table matter before you budget. First, the October 2026 pricing page only prints a price for the 5-client Pro tier. The 15, 30 and 50-client figures above come from the same page as it read in September 2026; the October comparison table still shows a "Small business $79/month" line, which matches the old Pro 30 price. Treat the higher tiers as a guide and confirm the number inside the plan selector before you commit.
Second, the page labels prices inconsistently. The plan cards show $9, $23 and $248, while the FAQ on the same page says Grow "starts at $10", Pro "starts at $25" and Studio Plus "starts at $275 for up to 500 members". The two sets line up exactly with the stated 10% annual discount ($275 less 10% is $247.50), so the most sensible reading is that the cards show annual billing and the FAQ shows monthly. If you plan to pay month to month, budget from the higher number.
What does Trainerize cost per client?
Per-client cost falls as you move up the Pro ladder, which is the main reason Trainerize charges by client count. On monthly billing:
- Grow: $10 for 2 clients, or $5 per client.
- Pro 5: $25 for 5 clients, or $5 per client.
- Pro 15: $50 for 15 clients, or about $3.33 per client (September 2026 listing).
- Pro 30: $79 for 30 clients, or about $2.63 per client (September 2026 listing).
- Pro 50: $135 for 50 clients, or $2.70 per client (September 2026 listing).
- Studio Plus: from $275 for up to 500 clients, or about $0.55 per client at full capacity.
Those per-client numbers only hold if you fill the tier. A coach with 16 clients pays the 30-client price, so their real cost per client is closer to $4.94. Client count is the number to watch, not the headline price.
What does each Trainerize plan add?
Each step up adds a layer of training and client-management features; the jumps from Basic to Grow and from Grow to Pro are the ones most solo coaches care about. Here is what each layer brings, as Trainerize describes it.
Basic: a one-client trial run
Basic is free for a single client. It covers the mobile app, workouts, basic messaging and habit and lifestyle coaching. It is useful for learning how the app works or for coaching one friend, but it is not a business plan. When the 30-day free trial ends, Trainerize drops your account back to Basic, so if you have more than one active client at that point, the others lose access until you pay.
Grow: AI workouts and nutrition tracking for 2 clients
Grow adds the AI Workout Builder, custom programs, meal and macro tracking, a Trainerize.me profile, and app and wearable integrations. The 2-client cap makes it a stepping stone. At $10 a month for 2 clients it costs the same per client as Pro 5, so most coaches who expect to grow skip straight to Pro.
Pro: the working plan for most coaches
Pro adds custom exercise videos, welcome emails, consultation forms, advanced messaging and challenges, and it is the only family with tiers from 5 to 200 clients. It is also the plan the paid add-ons are built around: the custom branded app setup is listed against Pro, and the Advanced Nutrition add-on is priced by Pro tier. For a coach with an online training business, Pro is the plan you will actually be on.
Studio Plus: everything bundled, for gyms
Studio Plus is aimed at gyms and studios with 500 or more clients and five or more locations. It adds group video calls, recipes and meals, referral links, prospect booking, onboarding and API access, and it includes every add-on plus a studio-level branded app. Larger tiers go through sales. For a solo or two-coach business it is far more capacity than needed, though it is the only plan where the add-on bill disappears.

What fees and add-ons does Trainerize charge?
Below Studio Plus, Trainerize charges separately for payments, scheduling and selling, video calls, advanced nutrition, a branded app and FitMetrics. These are the line items that turn a $25 plan into a $90 one.
| Add-on | Listed price | What it covers | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stripe Integrated Payments | $10/month | Taking client payments inside Trainerize | Stripe's own processing fees apply on top |
| Business | $25/month | Scheduling, referrals, selling products, premium content | Needed if clients book sessions with you in the app |
| Video Coaching | $10/month | 50 hours of video calls and 100 hours of streaming per month | Group video calls are bundled only on Studio Plus |
| Advanced Nutrition Coaching | $20/month on Grow, Pro 5 and Pro 15; $45/month on Pro 30 to Pro 200 | Deeper nutrition coaching beyond basic meal and macro tracking | Price more than doubles once you pass 15 clients |
| Custom Branded App (Pro) | $169 one-time setup | A client app in your branding | Earlier listings showed it among the monthly add-ons |
| FitMetrics | From $6 per client | A per-client add-on listed on the pricing page | Scales with your roster, so it can outgrow the plan price |
Does Trainerize take a transaction fee?
The October 2026 pricing page does not show a Trainerize transaction fee. To take payments in the app you need the $10 Stripe Integrated Payments add-on, and Stripe's own processing fees apply to each charge. Stripe is the only processor listed; PayPal and regional processors are not mentioned.
Are there overages or seat fees?
Trainerize does not list a per-client overage fee. Instead, going over your tier means moving to the next tier, and the jump can be large: from 15 to 16 clients moved the monthly price from $50 to $79 on the September 2026 listing. The page does not set out a separate per-trainer seat price below Studio Plus; if you plan to add a second coach, ask sales how seats are counted on your tier.
What does the free trial include?
The trial runs for 30 days with unlimited clients and no credit card. At the end it reverts to the free 1-client Basic plan, with no charge. Add-ons are not included during the trial, so you cannot test in-app payments, scheduling or video calls before paying for them. That is worth knowing, because those add-ons are exactly what decides whether Trainerize can run your business or only your workouts.
What does a coach actually pay for Trainerize at 5, 15 and 30 clients?
On monthly billing, a coach using Trainerize as their main client tool pays roughly $60 to $90 a month at 5 clients, $85 to $115 at 15, and $114 to $169 at 30, before a website, email tool or course platform. The table below builds each total from the listed prices.
The examples assume three set-ups: the core plan alone; the plan plus payments and scheduling (Stripe Integrated Payments and Business), which is what most coaches who sell online need; and a fully loaded set-up that also adds Video Coaching and Advanced Nutrition. The 15 and 30-client plan prices are the September 2026 listings. Coachful sits in the first row for comparison.
| Set-up | 5 clients (monthly) | 15 clients (monthly) | 30 clients (monthly) | Tools still needed beside it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients | None for booking, payments, contracts, video, courses, community, website, funnels or email; only Stripe or Razorpay processing |
| Trainerize, plan only | $25 (Pro 5) | $50 (Pro 15) | $79 (Pro 30) | Payments, booking, video calls, website, email marketing, courses, e-signature contracts |
| Trainerize + payments and scheduling | $60 | $85 | $114 | Video calls, website, email marketing, courses, e-signature contracts |
| Trainerize fully loaded | $90 | $115 | $169 | Website, email marketing, courses, e-signature contracts |
Over a year on monthly billing, the fully loaded figures come to $1,080 at 5 clients, $1,380 at 15 and $2,028 at 30. Add the $169 branded app setup and the 30-client coach's first year is $2,197, plus Stripe processing on every payment. Paying yearly lowers the plan portion by about 10%; the pricing page does not say whether add-ons get the same discount.
The last column is where the real bill hides. Trainerize has no course builder, website or funnel builder, or email marketing, and its pricing page does not list e-signature contracts. A coach who sells online usually needs each of those, which means two to four more subscriptions alongside Trainerize, each with its own login and its own copy of the client list. We have not priced those tools here because the choice varies so much, but even inexpensive ones add up quickly.
If you are working out what to charge clients so the software cost is covered, our guide to pricing app-only and live-call tiers for online fitness coaching walks through it, and pricing coaching packages has a worked cost example.
What hidden costs and gotchas should you know about?
The biggest surprises are the unprinted higher Pro tiers, the add-ons you cannot test during the trial, and an incomplete data export. None of them is hidden in the sense of being concealed, but each is easy to miss on a first read of the pricing page.
- Higher Pro tiers are not printed. As of October 2026 only Pro 5 carries a price. You see the 15, 30, 50, 75, 100 and 200-client prices inside the selector or by asking, so a quick look at the page understates what a growing coach pays.
- Monthly and annual labels conflict. Plan cards and FAQ give different numbers for the same plans. Budget from the monthly figure unless you are paying a year upfront.
- Tier jumps, not overages. One client over a tier moves you to the next tier. At the 15 to 30 boundary that was a $29 a month jump on the September 2026 listing.
- Advanced Nutrition more than doubles at 30 clients. It is $20 a month up to Pro 15 and $45 from Pro 30.
- Add-ons are not in the free trial. You can test workouts and messaging, but not payments, scheduling or video, before you pay.
- Trial reverts to 1 client. If you onboard a group during the trial and do not pick a plan, everyone except one client loses access.
- Per-client add-ons scale with you. FitMetrics starts at $6 per client, so at 30 clients it would start at $180 a month, more than the Pro 30 plan itself.
- Data export is partial. Trainerize's client export excluded messages, photos and attachments on its September 2026 profile. If you ever leave, progress photos and message history may not come with you.
- Public reviews are mixed. Trainerize had a Trustpilot score of 3.1 from 100 reviews in October 2026.
Is Trainerize worth it?
Trainerize is worth it for personal trainers and gyms whose business is mainly workout programming, wearable data and in-app messaging. It is less good value for coaches who also sell programs, courses or group offers, because those parts of the business need other tools on top of the add-ons.
In-person personal trainers adding an app
If your clients train with you face to face and you want them following workouts between sessions, Pro with no add-ons, or with Video Coaching, is a reasonable cost. You already handle payments and booking elsewhere, and the wearable integrations on Grow and above are a genuine strength.
Online fitness coaches selling monthly coaching
This is where the add-ons bite. You need payments and probably scheduling, and many online coaches also need a sales page, an email list and onboarding paperwork. At that point you are comparing $85 to $115 a month at 15 clients, plus a website and email tool, against an all-in-one platform. Run the numbers in the table above against your own client count.
Nutrition and health coaches
Basic meal and macro tracking comes with Grow, but deeper nutrition work means the Advanced Nutrition add-on. Coaches whose clients are mostly working on habits, food and lifestyle rather than training plans may find they are paying for a workout app they barely use. Whatever tool you pick, keep the scope line clear: coaching is not medical or dietetic treatment. If a client has a medical condition, a history of disordered eating, an injury or is pregnant, refer them to their doctor, a registered dietitian or a physiotherapist before changing their training or nutrition.
Gyms and multi-location studios
Studio Plus bundles every add-on and a studio-level branded app, and adds API access and group video calls. For a business with hundreds of members and several locations, that bundle is the simplest Trainerize option and avoids the add-on maths entirely.
Coaches who run programs, cohorts or courses
If your offer is a 12-week program with weekly goals, a community and a course library, Trainerize covers only the training slice. You would still need a course platform, a community tool and a website. This is the kind of coach Coachful is built for.

How does Trainerize compare with Coachful and other alternatives?
Among fitness coaching apps, Trainerize sits in the middle on plan price but tends to cost more once add-ons are counted, and it covers less of the business than an all-in-one platform. The table compares entry prices, the price at roughly 15 to 20 clients, how payments work and what each covers beyond training, as listed in October 2026.
| Platform | Entry price | Around 15 to 20 clients | Payments | Beyond training | Free trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coachful | Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients | Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients | Your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account; 0% platform fee | Booking, contracts, video, courses, community, website, funnels, email, AI assistant | A free trial |
| Trainerize | Free for 1 client; Grow $10/month | $50/month for Pro 15 (September 2026 listing), plus add-ons | $10/month Stripe add-on plus Stripe fees | Scheduling via $25/month Business add-on; no courses, website or email | 30 days, no card |
| TrueCoach | $26.34/month billed annually (5 active clients) | $57.99/month billed annually (20 active clients) | Stripe; no extra TrueCoach fees per its FAQ | No video calls, contracts, courses, community or website (September 2026 profile) | 14 days, no card |
| Everfit | Free for 5 clients; Pro from $19/month | $49/month for 20 clients ($41 annual) | Paid add-on | Automation and meal plans are paid add-ons; no courses, website or email | 30 days, no card |
| HubFit | $39/month for up to 50 clients | $39/month ($33 annual) | Premium and above, Stripe processing | Branded app is a $189/month add-on; no booking, video or website (September 2026 profile) | 14 days |
| PT Distinction | $19.90/month for 3 clients | $59.90/month for Pro (25 clients included) | Not shown on the pricing page | Branded app from Pro; no course builder, community or website | 1 month |
On the pure training-app comparison, HubFit's 50-client Standard plan is the lowest listed price for a mid-size roster, and Everfit's free 5-client plan is more generous than Trainerize's 1-client Basic. TrueCoach is the simplest of the group but limits in-app payments to coaches banking in the US, UK, Canada and Australia, per its September 2026 profile. PT Distinction charges per client above each plan's included number, so a coach between tiers pays only for the clients they add.
On Trustpilot in October 2026, Trainerize had 3.1 from 100 reviews, TrueCoach 2.4 from 19, Everfit 2.7 from 16, HubFit 5 from 390 and PT Distinction 4.8 from 297. Coachful had 4.5 from 21 reviews. Small review counts swing easily, so read the recent reviews rather than the score alone. What does Coachful include instead?
Coachful is a coaching platform where one subscription covers booking, payments, contracts, program delivery with habits and check-ins, courses, a community, a website with funnels and email, and an AI assistant. The coach has one login and the client has one branded app. Where Trainerize prices the business side as add-ons, these features are included in your Coachful membership (current plans: Lite: $29/month for up to 5 clients; Solo: $49/month for up to 20 clients; Pro: $99/month with unlimited clients; Studio: $199/month with unlimited clients).
It is built for coaches who deliver programs, not just sessions; solo coaches growing into a small team; and coaches replacing four to six tools. Coachful is based in Tallinn, Estonia.

Training and nutrition
The Fitness & Nutrition pack adds a workout builder with an exercise library of illustrated exercises, including supersets, circuits, AMRAP, EMOM, intervals and tempo. Clients log workouts with set history and personal records. You can set nutrition targets up to calories and macros, build meal plans and recipes, and clients can look up foods or scan barcodes. Progress photos and measurements stay private, weekly check-ins are built in, and clients can send private form-check videos that you comment on with timestamps. Challenges are included too. Coaches attach their own demo videos; there is no stock exercise video library. More on the Fitness & Nutrition page and for fitness coaches generally.
Programs, habits and check-ins
Multi-week programs carry weekly goals, daily tasks, habits, morning and evening check-ins, goals with progress bars and streaks. Each client record holds goals, check-ins, habits, notes, intake answers, tags, payments, sessions and an AI briefing, with a status of thriving, active, quiet or at risk, so you can see who needs a message this week.

This short walkthrough shows how programs are built and delivered to clients:

Payments and booking without add-ons
Payments run through your own Stripe Connect or Razorpay account: one-time, subscriptions, payment plans, order bumps, coupons, refunds, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and Stripe Tax, with an invoice per transaction and manual invoices. Coachful has charged a 0% platform fee since August 2026, so you pay only Stripe or Razorpay processing. See coaching payment software for more.

Booking pages have availability rules, buffers, minimum notice and time-zone detection, with two-way Google, Apple/iCloud and Outlook calendar sync. Sessions use built-in video or auto-created Zoom, Meet or Teams links, with email reminders plus SMS and WhatsApp reminders once messaging is enabled. You can sell paid sessions and session credits and ask intake questions at booking. Details on the scheduling software page. Coaching agreements with e-signature go out before the first call and are stored on the client record (coaching contracts).

Website, funnels, email and courses
The section-based website builder has a blog, custom domain, SEO settings and 30 designed homepage templates, plus booking, application, lead-magnet and checkout funnels with pixel and UTM tracking. Email covers lists, broadcasts and multi-step sequences with triggers, delays, branching and A/B splits. Courses have modules, lessons, drip and completion tracking, delivered into the client's branded home and app (course platform for coaches). These are the tools a Trainerize coach would otherwise pay for separately.

What Coachful does not do
- No Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura sync, and Apple Health sync is not publicly available. If wearable data drives your coaching, Trainerize's integrations are a real advantage.
- No stock exercise videos; you film or attach your own.
- The client app ships under the Coachful listing with your branding, not under your own App Store account.
- Not HIPAA-certified and no BAA, so it is not for clinical record-keeping or insurance billing.
- No PayPal and no permanent free plan.
- No Salesforce or HubSpot integration, and no multi-stage sales deal board for large teams.
Why Coachful stands out: a free white-glove service. On every plan, you can ask the Coachful team to build something for you from Create > We'll build it for you. Describe a website, funnel, sales page, program, course outline, email sequence, form, lead quiz or automation, attach up to 8 reference links and up to 10 files such as logos, photos and brand guides, and the team builds it inside your own account, usually within about 24 hours. Nothing is invented: no fake credentials, testimonials or prices, and gaps are left for you to fill. It does not cover recording videos, logo design, ad management or ongoing marketing. One recent build: a menopause and midlife health coach starting from nothing got a five-page site in sage and cream with every button leading to a free 20-minute consultation. Read more about the free white-glove service.

How to start
Start a free trial, then use the white-glove build to set up your website, first program or onboarding funnel. During onboarding, your clients, programs and content are imported for you, and you can export all client data as a ZIP whenever you want. Monthly plans cancel in one click.
Pick Trainerize over Coachful if...
Pick Trainerize over Coachful if wearable sync is central to your coaching, if you want a stock exercise video library rather than filming your own, if you run a multi-location gym that fits Studio Plus, or if you only need a workout app for in-person clients and already have a website, email and payments you are happy with.
How can you pay less for Trainerize?
The quickest savings are paying yearly, buying only the add-ons you use, and sizing your tier to your real client count. A few more habits help.
- Pay annually once you are sure. The annual price is about 10% lower. Use the 30-day trial to decide, then commit.
- Audit your add-ons every quarter. If you take payments through a separate checkout, you may not need the $10 Stripe add-on. If clients rarely book, the $25 Business add-on may be optional.
- Watch the tier boundaries. Ask how clients are counted toward your tier, and offboard clients who have finished so they do not hold a place you are paying for.
- Time your nutrition add-on. Advanced Nutrition jumps from $20 to $45 when you pass 15 clients. If only a few clients need it, check whether basic meal and macro tracking on Grow and Pro is enough.
- Hold off on per-client add-ons. FitMetrics is priced per client, so add it for the clients who use it, if the setup allows, rather than the whole roster.
- Price your offer to cover the stack. Raise rates or package your coaching so software is a small share of each client's fee. Our coaching pricing audit and coaching tier pricing models guides show how.
- Count every tool, not just Trainerize. Add up the website, email, course and contract tools you pay for beside it. If that total is higher than an all-in-one plan, consolidating saves more than any discount.
How should you decide?
Start with your client count and the parts of your business you need software for, then add up every subscription. If the answer is "workouts and messaging, for in-person clients", Trainerize Pro is a fair price. If the answer includes selling programs online, booking calls, onboarding paperwork, a website and an email list, compare the fully loaded Trainerize total plus the other tools against one plan that covers the whole client journey.
For other platforms coaches often price out, see our breakdowns of Practice Better pricing, Kajabi pricing and Paperbell pricing.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Trainerize cost per month?
As listed in October 2026, Trainerize costs $0 for 1 client on Basic, $10 a month for 2 clients on Grow, from $25 a month for 5 clients on Pro, and from $275 a month on Studio Plus for 500 or more clients. Annual billing is about 10% less. Add-ons for payments, scheduling, video and nutrition cost extra below Studio Plus.
Is Trainerize free?
Yes, but only for 1 client. The Basic plan is free and covers the app, workouts, basic messaging and habit coaching. There is also a 30-day trial with unlimited clients and no card, after which the account reverts to Basic.
How much is Trainerize for 15 or 30 clients?
The October 2026 page no longer prints those tiers. In September 2026, Pro 15 was listed at $50 a month and Pro 30 at $79, and the October comparison table still shows a "Small business $79/month" line. Check the plan selector for the current figure before you sign up.
Does Trainerize charge transaction fees?
No Trainerize transaction fee is shown on the pricing page. In-app payments need the $10 a month Stripe Integrated Payments add-on, and Stripe's processing fees apply to each charge.
What Trainerize add-ons do most coaches need?
Coaches who sell online usually add Stripe Integrated Payments ($10 a month) and Business ($25 a month) for scheduling and selling. Video Coaching ($10 a month) and Advanced Nutrition ($20 or $45 a month depending on tier) are common next steps. Studio Plus includes all add-ons.
How much is the Trainerize branded app?
The custom branded app on Pro is listed at $169 as a one-time setup fee in October 2026. Studio Plus includes a studio-level branded app.
Can I export my client data from Trainerize?
Trainerize offers a client data export, but on its September 2026 profile it excluded messages, photos and attachments. If you might switch later, save progress photos and key conversations separately as you go.
Is Trainerize good for life or business coaches?
Not really. It is built around workouts, habits and nutrition tracking, with no course builder, website, funnels or email marketing. Coaches outside fitness usually get more from a coaching platform such as Coachful (see coaching software).
What is Coachful's free white-glove service?
On every Coachful plan, the team will build a website, funnel, program, course outline, email sequence or similar inside your account from a short brief, with up to 8 reference links and 10 files attached. It usually takes about 24 hours. It does not include recording videos, logo design or ad management.
Can Coachful replace Trainerize for an online fitness coach?
For many online coaches, yes: it covers workouts with an illustrated exercise library, logging, nutrition targets, meal plans, check-ins and form-check video, plus payments, booking, website and email. It does not sync Garmin, Fitbit, Whoop or Oura and has no stock exercise videos, so coaches who rely on those should weigh that first.
